After Attempt on Trump’s Life, Which Democrat Will Want to Replace Biden
The loss would be too embarrassing
I started writing this days before Biden stepped down. You will see the adjustment in my thinking as you read.
I recently wrote a piece called ‘Trump is a Shoo-In For The Presidency Now’. In it, I posited two reasons why the assassination attempt on Donald Trump guaranteed him victory in the US presidential elections in November.
- He showed remarkable bravery during the mayhem, encouraging America to ‘fight, fight, fight!’
- He’s bound to get the sympathy vote, pushing those who feel the media unfairly treat him, and the justice system being used to persecute him, over to his side.
In this article, I will postulate a third reason.
Biden's gaffes are well known. They have been highlighted before he was elected and continued through his presidency. From losing his train of thought to falling off his bicycle, the blunders are numerous.
Many pundits have been musing that Biden would be replaced before the DNC convention. Most of the talking-heads have been on the political right but some on the left have said it would be a good idea. They have surmised that keeping Biden on the ticket is handing Trump the presidency.
