thanks for your response. I agree with much of what you've highlighted. I wish more people separated the Biblical Jesus from the acts of some of his followers. Jesus was nothing like many of them. However, many Christians are out there doing their best to live out their lives like Jesus did, looking after the poor, visiting prisoners in jail, cooking a meal for someone in mourning.
Remember that Jesus was a Jew. He prayed to the wrathful, vengeful Old Testament Creator. He would take issue with your description of his Father. The words he would prefer are merciful and just, IMO.
