Hi Melodie, I guess if you took just that sentence and ignored some others, I can see why you would think that 'denying the truth of scripture' would make you a scoffer. It doesn't. I also wrote a scoffer is 'one who mocks Christ and ridicules the things of God.

I'm a Christian. Have you read the teachings of Christ? I would say not if you thing he promoted hatred, slavery, and oppression of women. He is about love, service and equality.

Unfortunately many of his disciples have sullied his teachings in his name, but I encourage you to look at him not fallen man. Jesus came that we may have abundant life here and now, not later. (John 10:10).
