I don’t think I have anything mixed up. Discipline is punishment. I think people have this notion that when the word ‘punish’ is used, something harsh or harmful is done. To punish is to lay a consequence for an infraction. You ate the cookie, so no TV for 2 days. That’s a punishment. No one got hit.
