Will We Ever Have a United Church or Has That Ship Sailed

I’ve been thinking a lot about the lack of unity in the church. Watching debates on YouTube doesn’t give me hope that we will ever be a united church. That is until Jesus returns.

I’m talking about discarding all our groups and being in one church. There will be no more Catholic, no more Orthodox, no more Pentecostal, etc. What do you think? Am I living in Lala land?

We have Protestants slamming Catholics, accusing them of idolatry with Marion dogma and icons.
Eastern Orthodox accuse Oriental Orthodox of heresy because of their view on the nature of God.
Catholics and Orthodox accuse some Protestants of blasphemy by taking the presence of Jesus from the Eucharist.

It’s a mess. I’m not optimistic.

Jesus prayed for all of us in the gospel of John, chapter 17.

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one…
